The Chicago Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE-CS) is the Chicago-Land community of plastics engineers and professionals from large and small companies, universities, government facilities, and technology providers, primarily in Northern Illinois. It is one of the most populous sections of the Society.
The Chicago Section makes in person and on-line opportunities for plastics professionals to meet and interact. SPE's mission is to promote, advance, and disseminate the scientific and engineering knowledge relating to plastics and polymers. These (monthly) meetings address technical information, education, training, networking, career development and social interaction.
SPE's primary event is ANTEC ®, the world's largest plastics technical conference. Topical Conferences (TOPCON), sponsored by SPE's technical Divisions and geographical Sections, offer in-depth technical information on specific plastics, polymers, and industry topics. The Society also conducts technical conferences in partnership with other professional organizations in many countries, including EUROTEC. SPE also offers interactive, web-based learning.
Plastics professionals can become members of the Society of Plastics Engineers by visiting the SPE website, at www.4spe.org.
